Peter Norris

Peter Norris – Ceramicist

Peter is a ceramic artist.  He is concerned with producing beautiful form with decoration which is an intrinsic part and ‘at one’ with the form, and flawless shell like surfaces.

He started his working life as a precision engineer, later graduating to industrial design and it is this background which gave him the love of producing beautifully designed and finely finished work.

Peter loves to research the work of other ceramicists and has done a lot of experimentation with form and decoration to achieve his final results.

He has previously exhibited at galleries in Llandudno and Conway, (North Wales); Candid Gallery, Islington; Spitalfields and Brick Lane, London; Maldon; Ingatestone; Westcliff; Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford; Great Bardfield and the Artshouse, Stratford upon Avon.

Peter has a BA in Ceramics in Education degree from the Anglian Ruskin University and has won 3D awards at the Beecroft Art Gallery in Southend on Sea and two of his pieces are in their permanent collection.  He is a pottery tutor at ‘The Fold’, Billericay Arts Association:

Peter’s work will be on display in St Mary Magdalen.
