Alan Gwinnell – The Artist 1932 – 2016

Alan Gwinnell was an Artist and Sculptor who moved to Billericay in 1962. He had numerous one-man exhibitions as well as exhibits in London galleries. He also had various private and corporate commissions and his paintings and sculptures are in both private and corporate collections in France, America and Japan.

He trained in a commercial advertising agency and was for many years a Graphic Designer, Illustrator and Art Director with large companies in parallel with his Fine Art work.

His Fine Art Training at many London art colleges concluded at the Sir John Cass College, studying under the late Edward Hall President of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters.

He painted with the Billericay Art Club and was a highly respected tutor of Art at The Fold where he taught and encouraged hundreds of students for many years.

An exhibition celebrating his life and work in multi media will be on display during Billericay Art Trail at The Fold (Billericay Arts Association).
